In this regard, the reservations platform explained that Tepoztlán is the number one destination on the list, chosen by 26 percent of the respondents, followed by San Miguel de Allende with 18 percent, Taxco with 16 percent, Peña de Bernal with 12 percent and Tequila with 10 percent.
In a statement, it stressed that easy to organize trips are an excellent opportunity to get to know the country better, according to 47 percent of Mexicans.
“They are the perfect places to experience the culture, traditions and Mexican cuisine, as well as to associate with the calm and tranquility that gives to travelers who come from a busy city,” the platform added.
In addition, it explained that 44 percent said that the proximity of a town to its place of residence is the main reason to select a destination.
Tepoztlán, Morelos is known for its ancient traditions and pre-Hispanic treasures, as well as its vibrant colors, delicious food and recreational activities such as the climb to the famous Cerro del Tepozteco, which houses a temple in honor of the pulque god.

Finally, it added that Tequila, Jalisco, was also declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and it is famous for its production and strong tequila culture.
